National Instruments cDAQ-SV1100 Bundle (Sound and Vibration Measurement System)
The National Instruments cDAQ-SV1100 Bundle (part number: 865665-01) is a compact, USB-based system for sound and vibration measurement, intended for accurate data acquisition in laboratory, field and industrial applications. It combines the NI-9231 C Series Sound and Vibration Input Module with the NI cDAQ-9171 one-slot CompactDAQ chassis and provides a complete, ready-to-use solution for acoustic and vibration measurement and testing.
The NI-9231 is the heart of the cDAQ-SV1100 system, providing eight analog input channels, which can be used for simultaneous measurements. Each input has a range of 24-bits and a maximum sampling rate of up to 51.2 kS/s and can accept differential inputs in the range of ±5 V. Each input channel has built-in anti-aliasing filters, which are automatically switched in to optimize the selected sample rate, resulting in accurate measurements of dynamic signals. The module accepts both IEPE and non-IEPE sensors and is therefore ideal for the attachment of accelerometers, microphones, tachometers and proximity probes, as used in the diagnostics of mechanical sound and vibration characteristics. You can choose between AC and DC coupling and adjust the power for IEPE sensors, making it easier to use with different types of sensors while still getting accurate measurements
The provided cDAQ-9171 chassis, although small in physical size, connects via one USB 2.0 port to power the module and provides the ability for high-speed data streaming and simple integration with PCs and laptops. The chassis is lightweight and portable, having been designed as a rugged, field-proven platform for sensor-based testing in environments where reliability and precision are pre-requisites.
Designed for engineers who are dealing with applications such as noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), machinery condition monitoring and acoustic characterization, the cDAQ-SV1100 Bundle provides accurate and time-synchronized data acquisition capabilities, which are essential in the study of signals in real time and their interpretation. When used in conjunction with NI software tools such as LabVIEW or FlexLogger the system provides the ability to configure, visualize and log data almost instantaneously, allowing sound and vibration signals to be readily captured and analyzed for predictive maintenance purposes, design validation, and product quality assessment, to give but a few of the many potential applications.
